January-March 2012: New Scripture and Bible lesson book printing and distribution.

With each new outreach the need for books grows. With each new village that hears about their Creator for the first time comes a new group of young believers with a spiritual hunger to read about and get to know thier Savior deeper. God is doing a great work in many of the Dao villages. It often seems like all we are doing as missionaries these days is trying to keep up with throwing fuel on the spiritual fire in hopes that it keeps on growing bigger and bigger!

In Our village, which is called Ebauwida, we are daily vigorously working together with the local believers to translate and print new scripture portions as we also study and teach our way through the book of First Corinthians together. Two days hike down river to the North, in a village calledTaomi, the young church body there is studying through the recently completed Bible lessons books we have formed on the book of Romans. To the South East of us, a days hike up into the mountains are the people of the village Paimokau. They are just finishing up their studies in the book of Acts and are getting ready to imitate the example of the early church in following the Lord's command for all believers to be baptized. And to the South West there is a new outreach area called Kupekuye where people are gathering and listening to Dao Bible teachers teach in that village for the first time from Creation to Christ.

Each on of these outreach areas has trained Dao Bible teachers that come back to us literally every other month or so asking for new Bible lessons books to teach and new scripture books for the people they are teaching. In addition to this, the amount of literate people in the Dao language group is growing and with each new person that learns how to read, the need for printed scripture portions get even bigger. So we have made this the "Project of the month." We are doing everything we can to fan the flame and get new lesson books and scripture portions translated and printed in the Dao language and then distributed to these different areas!

So what can you do to help?
First of all, pray for the teachers and listeners. Our teachers face many trials in these outreaches from physical sicknesses to spiritual warefare. We need people like you to faithfully stand behind them in prayer as they push forward into new areas and teach and disciple.

Second, if after praying you feel like God would have you to be involved in an even deeper way, give financially to this need to provide the teachers and listeners alike with new books. In between the printing costs and transportation costs that have to be regularly paid to see new books printed in the city and then transported to the jungle, there is a very significant financial burden that has to be regularly taken care of. You can help by getting involved.
